Job Responsibilities:

  1. Code multispecialty outpatient charts daily.
  2. Verify the availability of all supporting documents to substantiate medical code assignments.
  3. Maintain daily logs and productivity records.
  4. Determine the codability of secondary diagnoses and/or procedures.
  5. Achieve set targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) outlined by the supervisor/manager.
  6. Conduct analysis and report trends to the supervisor/manager.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Life Sciences/Paramedical/Medical.
  • Possession of national certification or registration in health information management coding from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) or American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience. Experienced candidates are invited to apply.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Assign codes to diagnoses and procedures using ICD (International Classification of Diseases) and CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes.
2. Ensure accurate code assignment and sequencing in compliance with government and insurance regulations.
3. Follow up with providers on insufficient or unclear documentation.
4. Collaborate with clinical staff for clarification on documentation.
5. Conduct information searches for complex or unusual coding cases.
6. Receive and review patient charts and documents for accuracy.
7. Evaluate and code the previous day’s batch of patient notes.
8. Ensure the currency and activation of all codes.

Qualifications for Medical Coder:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Medical Coding.
  • Preference for coders with specialization in ED profee, E&M OP, IPDRG, and Pathology coding.
  • Excellent typing and 10-key speed and accuracy.
  • Commitment to delivering a high level of customer service.
  • Proficient mathematical skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently.

2. Identify and assess organizational training needs through TNI, audit, retro audit reports, and consultations with Operations managers.
3. Develop individualized and group training programs addressing specific operational requirements.
4. Create training manuals focused on achieving tangible results.
5. Implement effective and purposeful training methods.
6. Ensure that training aligns with operational needs and enhances associates’ quality percentages.
7. Assess employees’ skills, performance, and productivity to pinpoint areas for improvement.
8. Motivate and inspire team members by setting a positive example.
9. Maintain effective communication with team members and Process Coaches (PCs).
